Founding member and lead guitaist of the two-time Grammy nominated progressive metal band Dream Theater, John Petrucci got serious about guitar at the age of 12. Later he enrolled Boston's Berklee College of Music and formed "Majesty" band with fellow classmates, bassist John Myung and drummer Mike Portnoy, later transformed to "o Dream Theater" name. With Dream Theater Petrucci recorded fourteen studio albums and won 2 Grammy Awards. He is also in the project band Liquid Tension Experiment and toured with popular G3 guitar tour along Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Petrucci has released popular guitar instructional video, "Rock Discipline", which covers warm-up exercises, alternate picking, sweep picking, chords and other guitar techniques.
