Shortly after he started his career, Beck was recruited by The Yardbirds to replace Eric Clapton. In the same time he formed "The Jeff Beck Group" with vocalist Rod Stewart and bassist Ronnie Wood.
Beck often collaborats with many top musicians of different genres and appeared on albyms of such artists as Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Morrissey, Jon Bon Jovi, Kate Bush, Roger Waters, Donovan, Stevie Wonder, Les Paul, Zucchero, Cyndi Lauper, Brian May, Stanley Clarke and ZZ Top.
